Australia’s leading light commercial vehicle magazine, ‘Delivery’ has picked the Citroën Berlingo as the 2006 Small Van of the Year in its annual search for the best commercial vehicles on the Australian market.
« In the cost conscious small van market the Citroen Berlingo represents excellent all-round value, » explains Chris Mullett, Managing Editor and Publisher of Delivery. « The Citroën Berlingo matches the competition in all key areas, while offering a substantial cost advantage with its $15,990 price. This combination makes it the winner in the small van category. »
The Citroën Berlingo has proven to be one of the French vehicle maker’s most successful vehicles of all time and since its launch has been much imitated. It provides an excellent combination of a three cubic metre load space and 800 kg payload, with a vehicle that while appearing to be car-derived is in fact designed specifically as a commercial vehicle. This means that it meets perfectly the day-to-day needs of van drivers with features such as high seating position, a fold down front passenger seat with integral table, plenty of door pockets and storage areas and it is easy and comfortable to drive.
« This award is a clear recognition of the work that both our French colleagues and ourselves have done with Berlingo, » says Miles Williams, General Manager for Citroën in Australia. « Citroën has designed a class-defining small van, the benchmark against which all rivals must be compared, and we have ensured that it is available in Australia at a class-leading price. It’s a combination that is clearly award-winning ! »
